Andorra & Soldeu

A dual principality between France and Spain. Europe's alpine hidden gem. The perfect setting for a conference unlike any other.

Location is
Everything

Andorra is not the obvious choice. That is precisely why we chose it.

A micro-state of 77,000 people perched at an average altitude of 1,996 metres in the eastern Pyrenees, Andorra offers something no conference destination in Switzerland, France, or Austria can quite match: genuine intimacy. The country is small enough that the conference fills it meaningfully. Faculty are not anonymous figures on a distant stage โ€” they are at the next table at dinner, on the chairlift, in the spa.

Easy to reach from Barcelona and Toulouse, accessible from across Europe and with reasonable connections from the Middle East and Americas, Andorra punches far above its weight as a conference destination.

๐Ÿ”๏ธ
Soldeu โ€” Our Base
Soldeu is a ski village at 1,710m within the Grandvalira ski area โ€” the largest ski resort in the Iberian Peninsula and one of the top ski resorts in Europe. It is a purpose-built resort village perfectly suited to a concentrated conference environment. Accommodation, dining, skiing, and the aprรจs scene are all within walking distance.
๐ŸŒŠ
Caldea โ€” The Spa Landmark
Caldea is the architectural icon of Andorra la Vella โ€” a futuristic glass spire housing Europe's largest thermal spa complex. Thermal pools, lagoons, jacuzzis, treatment rooms, and relaxation spaces across multiple levels. The anchor of our non-ski wellness programme, and an unforgettable conference memory regardless of your position on skiing.
Getting There

Travel & Transport

Andorra has no airport or rail connection. All access is by road. This is easier than it sounds โ€” and we handle the hard part.

Primary Hub
Barcelona El Prat (BCN)
~2 hrs
The main international arrival hub. Direct routes from across Europe, North America, the Middle East and beyond. Conference coaches available with paid reservation โ€” timed to major arrival banks. Two coach departures planned.
Secondary Hub
Toulouse Blagnac (TLS)
~1.5 hrs
Shorter drive. Strong connections across France and Europe. Single conference coach with paid reservation. A good option for attendees coming via Paris or other French cities.
Self Drive
Independent Arrival
Flexible
Car hire available from both Barcelona and Toulouse airports. Motorway to the Andorran border, then mountain roads into Soldeu. Winter tyres or chains may be required โ€” check conditions before travel.

The Karaoke Coach โ€” Our conference coaches are not ordinary transfers. Each coach features a roving moderator conducting informal faculty interviews and attendee conversations, recorded and released as conference media content. The journey is part of the conference. Paid reservations required to guarantee your seat.

Accommodation

Where to Stay

Soldeu has a concentrated set of hotels ranging from comfortable 3-star options to high-end ski-in/ski-out properties. We are in discussions with several properties to negotiate preferential delegate rates. Details will be announced when registration opens. Early booking is strongly advised โ€” Soldeu is a popular February ski destination.

Ski-In / Ski-Out Hotels
Several Soldeu properties offer true ski-in/ski-out access to the Grandvalira pistes. These will be prioritised for conference room block negotiations. Typically 4โ€“5 star, with spa facilities, restaurants, and a premium experience. Limited availability โ€” priority to early registrants.
Mid-Range Options
A range of 3-star hotels and aparthotels are available in Soldeu and the nearby villages of El Tarter and Canillo, within short shuttle or walk of the conference venue. Good value, ski-accessible, and suitable for those prioritising budget.
Conference Venue
The conference academic sessions will be based in a dedicated venue in the Soldeu area with full AV capabilities, multiple session rooms for parallel tracks, and adjacent workshop spaces. Venue confirmation pending โ€” to be announced before registration opens.
Practical Tips
Book accommodation early. Pack ski gear or arrange hire in advance โ€” resort hire is available but expensive in season. Bring warm layers. February averages -3ยฐC at resort level during the day. Sunscreen at altitude is non-negotiable. Cash is helpful as not all mountain establishments take card.
The Experience

February in Andorra

Early February sits in the sweet spot of the Pyrenean ski season. Snowpack is typically at its most reliable. Crowds have not yet peaked to the half-term rush that follows. Daylight hours are increasing. Temperatures are cold enough for excellent snow conditions but rarely severe.

The Grandvalira ski area spans 210km of marked pistes across 6 sectors and 10 villages. From beginner runs directly above Soldeu to demanding black runs across the area, every skill level is catered for. Non-skiers have Caldea, mountain restaurants, hiking on snowshoes, and the cultural offerings of Andorra la Vella just 20 minutes down the valley.

Andorra is also โ€” this matters โ€” exceptionally good value for a European ski destination. Duty-free status means alcohol, ski hire, and dining are materially cheaper than equivalent Swiss or French Alpine venues. Your conference budget goes further here.
